Rostrum Medical Innovation Partners with Toronto General Hospital for Upcoming Evaluation of its’ VQm® System

December 7, 2022 - Vancouver, B.C.

Rostrum Medical® today announced its partnership with Toronto General Hospital to begin an evaluation for its innovative device, the VQm® System. The agreement permits Toronto General Hospital to use the VQm® System in their Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to evaluate its performance in the critical care setting. This evaluation represents another milestone for Rostrum in its goal of empowering medical professionals with innovative solutions.

Continuous, non-invasive monitoring of critical parameters used to manage mechanically ventilated patients is currently difficult to achieve in the ICU. With the VQm® System’s ability to offer a non-invasive, continuous monitoring of critical parameters at the patient’s bedside, Rostrum Medical aims to address this challenge with its VQm® System and looks forward to Toronto General Hospital team’s evaluation in this challenging hospital setting.

About VQm® System

The VQm® System is a novel monitoring device that aims to provide clinicians with near real-time physiological insight into the effects of changes in lung mechanics of mechanically ventilated patients. The VQm® System was developed with the intention to assist physicians in their management of mechanical ventilation by providing measurements of the following physiological parameters: Shunt Index (Qsi), Dead space (VD), Pulmonary Blood Flow (PBF), and Functional Residual Capacity (FRC). The VQm Pulmonary Health Monitor™ is Health Canada approved.
