Rostrum Medical Innovation Receives Health Canada Clearance for its 2nd Generation VQm Pulmonary Health Monitor™

August 29, 2022 - Vancouver, BC.

Rostrum Medical is pleased to announce Health Canada Licensing approval for its 2nd generation VQm®. The VQm® System model SØ6 will feature its new and updated user interface, with improvements on usability experience to support the clinical workflow in the intensive care unit. Health Canada approval represents significant milestone in Rostrum’s commercialization strategy to introduce the VQm® into expanded markets.

Patients on mechanical ventilators require personalized ventilator settings.  Understanding the interaction between the patient’s heart and lungs is critical for optimizing lung protective ventilation to avoid lung injuries, and other negative outcomes.  Current technologies are known to be cumbersome, provide partial information and require extensive training. The VQm® is an effective tool to support personalized lung protective ventilation, providing comprehensive lung and heart physiological data. The VQm’s measurements can be obtained non-invasively, in near real-time, at the patient’s bedside, optimizing clinical workflows.

Nathan Ayoubi, COO of Rostrum Medical Innovations said, “Our team has been working very hard to enhance the design of the VQm® in support of the intensive care workflow that is known to have an arduous environment. Our unique system design can be incorporated into current clinical environments in less than 10 seconds, and works with any standard ventilator. We understand the daily challenges faced by healthcare professionals, and we are dedicated to supporting their care by removing time-consuming, cumbersome and complicated set ups to access critical information at the bedside for better outcomes.”
